Terrorism in Second Life? Not really.

There has been a lot of talk about the possibilities for terrorist groups to run high quality realistic simulations in Second Life and perform activities such as money laundering etc. The United States of America even went so far as to discuss this idea in Congress and assign reports on the subject. The report found very little Jihadist use in Second Life. Increased scrutiny and regulations on financial transactions in Second Life also make it an unlikely money laundering use for terrorists. It is still a very good communication tool however.

It is true that it is a communications tool like any other channel, however, seems like Twitter would be easier and faster to use.

But then again, a nasty person using SL might get carried away with the social and creative aspect and turn over a new leaf.
