Sony Corp PS3 Home Virtual 3d World Again Delayed
Sony Corp PS3 Second Life Rival “Home” virtual world game is over a year late. Sony has again delayed the release. A test version was supposed to be ready by the summer but this deadline may be missed as well. Sony Corp PS3 “Home” should rival Second Life and features include chatting, meeting, playing online games, use of avatars, and more. Ryoji Akagawa who is the senior producer of the Sony PS3 Home project is not commenting on the delays. The Sony PlayStation Network for video and music downloads may also be delayed with very little information on this launch as well. Unfortunately Delays have become all too common when it comes to both the PS3 and Virtual worlds. The final word is the Beta test should be in the Fall of this year with a launch some time in 2009.

Often seen as a direct competitor to Second Life, Sony’s PS3 Home will be similar but is still away from launch by quite a few months. In order to participate in the test service you have to have a Japanese PS3 account which leaves me out. Tests should hit the United States in the next few months.
