Settlement in Rase Kenzo copyright case
I reported earlier that Second Life avatar Rase Kenzo was being sued by six Second Life designers. Well now Rase Kenzo has settled with these designers and will pay damages. The amount of five hundred and twenty five dollars will be paid out as damages. In exchange, the designers will not comment. This is significantly lower that the US $7,000 in damages that designers originally sought. The legal fees are also being paid for by the designers.
The morale of the story is virtual goods are still not protectable by law.
