Larger virtual Ad/Creative Agencies abandoning Second Life?
Are larger virtual advertising and creative agencies abandoning Second Life? In an earlier post I wrote about the problems the Electric Sheep Company is having laying off one third of their staff. Many of the larger agencies are fed up with the instability of Second Life and the failure of Linden Labs to fix the problem. The CSI:NY Second Life Project had particular problems with stability. Automatically enrolling viewers or customizing the avatar entry experience was very difficult. Many of the large agencies are now looking at competitors to Second Life and other Online Virtual Worlds. The company Millions of Us created small projects for Toyota and Cisco. Mat Small from Millions of Us says they will not be entering Second Life again until these problems are fixed.
Metaversatility also has no new Second Life builds scheduled. Metaversatility is increasingly using There.com.
