i guess Lindens would rather buy LL of the petty cash.  :-)

to be serious, they did allready show their announced opensim based product.

And there are IBM dev´s in the opensim project for a long while, and we see no change.

Thank you for your comment.  I agree it is a little bit confusing.  It looks to me like IBM has moved beyond Linden Lab and will be offering their own solution.  Linden Lab and Second Life seem to be playing catchup and trying to offer a competing product.</description>

IBM did allready announce a product on the lotussphere this year:  

Lotus Sametime 3D

wich is based on opensim, where some developer of IBM are working for a while.

Maybe this is even a missinterpretation, it they will offer a &quot;Second Life alike&quot; system - based on opensim.  THis would very much fit into their strategy, using opensource as a basis.
