As I approached the rocket suddenly took off but the wings were so bent the rocket lurched into a smoking death spin….
When I was younger I used to frequently build and launch model rockets. This was a very fun and entertaining hobby. I must say I have had my share of failed missions however. I once launched a tiny thumb sized rocket wrongly equipped with a large D engine and I never saw anything so small disappear so fast and never return. Another mishap involved launching a rocket into a wooded area with a large parachute on a very windy day. (Do not worry no fire was started). My funniest mishap was a failed launch where the rocket did not actually leave the launch pad…at least at first. The engine roared but the rocket did not move and the plastic wings quickly began to burn. As I approached the rocket suddenly took off but the wings were so bent the rocket lurched into a smoking death spin almost sideways across the field.
