In the below video we see that Second Life does not yet work with Windows 7. The new operating system has launched and has become quite popular yet we have heard nothing yet from Linden Lab about when a version of the Second Life client compatible with Windows 7 will be released.

I know more than a couple of people on 7 with SL and no issues thus far. Where do you get your information from?

That looks more like a problem with your drivers and 7. My brother had the same problem on other games.

If the video card (or chip) has Windows 7 release candidate video drivers use them. I had the same problem, and that solved it. (i am on Win7 ultimate)

i have the same problem.. i have updated my video driver and it still dosent work.

Don’t update your drivers through windows. Go the the card creators website and download the Win7 Drivers from there. Even though your PC is telling you your drivers are up to date it doesn’t necessarily mean you have the right drivers for the new OS, just the latest drivers for normal XP/Vista users.

i am having a problem with second life working on windows 7. everytime i go to login it tells me my video card needs updating..im like wtf cause it is a brand new built pc..latest graphics card and all…so if u all read this can someone help??

Mine wont work either. Keep getting an issue with my graphics card. Have un-installed and re-installed card and second life and nothing. Same error message.
Getting frustrated. Any advice.
have downloaded the drivers from my manufacturers site not windows…tried that before and that didnt work either. Should I just give up?
Are you sure its not an issue with the persons driver settings? I ran Second Life on Windows 7 just fine…with a netbook.
