Viruses in the Virtual Worlds
Viruses have moved from email to web pages to facebook and myspace and now are preparing for a jump into virtual worlds. Dr. Igor Muttik warns that computer viruses and malware will soon be targeting 3d virtual worlds that are lax on security standards. Online gamers should be on caution and take steps to protect themselves, their virtual avatar, their bank account, and their virtual currencies and passwords. MMORG games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life are particularly vulnerable due to their wide adoption and likely targethood.
