The value of the Linden Dollar has been dropping against the United States dollar. In the last few days the exchange rate has changed from about 260 to 1 today reaching 290 to 1 before Linden Lab put a halt to trading. This is due to the massive layoffs and decreasing profits of Second Life.

Linden Lab had this to say: “This morning saw a decrease in the exchange rate of the Linden dollar versus the US dollar…………Should the average exchange rate change more than 10 percent in any given day, automated circuit breakers will kick in to halt trading for at least one hour.”
