Second Life Land Supply Freeze
The supply of new mainland in Second Life has been stopped by Linden Labs at least for the next seven to fourteen days. The stoppage in new land in Second Life is caused by the development of a new land auction system and a new system for auctioning recycled Second Life land. The Second Life mainland supply should resume at a rate of 8 regions per day once the new land auction system is back up. No new land will be auctioned using the old system and no Second Life land will be auctioned until the new system is active.
This will serve as a convenient boost in demand for Second Life real estate and possibly turn around the current downward real estate spiral.
