Linden Lab Sells Second Life!
4 Comments | Posted by Brian F. in News and Stuff
In a shocking news story today we have uncovered that Linden Lab has sold the rights to their Second Life virtual world, servers, and software. The sale was made after weeks of talks with an investment group rumored to include There.com, MTV Investment Partners, and Venture Capital Groups. No official announcement has been made but an individual close to the deal has leaked the information on the condition of anonymity.
Terms of the agreement include not disclosing the final purchase price of the deal. This may come as a shock but many people will recognize that Linden Lab has been mainstreaming Second Life for months or years in preparation for this sale including taking the following steps:
1. Outlawing Gambling in Second Life.
2. The Segregration of Adult Content in Second Life
3. Linden Lab Aquisition of SL Exchange and OnRez
