Google Lively Shutdown Underscores Position of Second Life as Virtual World Leader and Importance of Profitable Business Model

When Google Lively first launched after extensive testing everyone was saying Google Lively is a Second Life competitor. Well it now appears that Second Life has won the virtual world competition.
Google announced that Google Lively will shut down by the end of the year as Google focuses on core business models. This underscores Linden Lab and Second Life as a leader in the virtual world and the importance of having a profitable business model. Something that many challengers to the virtual crown do not have.
Despite attempts to monitize with Google Lively Developer Applications and the cool Google Lively Fighting it appears that it just was not profitable.
