Altair Automated Online Bots in Second Life – Smarter Than Average Avatar AI
The below video shows how Altair Automated Avatar Bots work in Second Life. You have probably encountered bots in Second Life and in other virtual worlds. In most cases they are against terms of service but it is an interesting concept. This is a fairly long demonstration and it is worth noting the artificial intelligence sets these Second Life bots apart.
This technology can be used for Sitepal and other web site avatar attendants or other virtual customer service representatives that can be pre programed with information and more intelligently answer questions and perform activities.
Reactions to other elements in the virtual environment
About halfway through the video a snake and a rabit are introduced and the Second Life bot automatically reacts to them. A learning type of effect is achieved when a mine field is rezzed in and it harms her.
