Linden Labs has released several “executive graphs”

| More

In the face of criticisms over land prices and talk of a land crisis and abandoned land in Second Life Linden Labs has released several “executive graphs”. What is an executive graph? Why a bunch of green and lots of bars going up up up! You can see some of the graphs here.

One thing that was very interesting was the pre-gambling ban versus post gambling ban. This graph shows that prior to the ban gambling had accounted for 30%-50% of the overall Second Life transactions and economy. After the gambling ban the transactions fell from nearly $36 Million down to a low point of $19 Million with very slow growth since then.

Your “editorial bias” dial is set on “TOO OBVIOUS” for this one. The growth, since Q4 is not what most people would term “very slow”. Rather, growth was too fast prior to this. It was a bubbled. It has settled into a healthier trend for now.
