We have written before that Second Life has the best selection of 3d plane MMORPG options out there. The below high definition video contains one of the most realistic 3d re-creations of a Boeing 737 that I have ever seen in Second Life or anywhere. From the spinning engines, to the flaps on the wings, to the safety lights on the rear of the plane. This has many practical and fun uses in the virtual world.

Although the short takeoff distance was a little unrealistic, maybe that is something that Boeing can shoot for in the future. Check out the three and a half minute long video below.

Empire of Sports is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game geared towards sports fans. In the game you develop your avatar competing in sports and training. I really like this idea and am excited about this new MMO.

The gameplay is fun and includes sports such as Football, Tennis, Skiing, Basketball, Soccer, Boxing, Bob Sledding, and more.

The Chronicles of Spellborn is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game created by Spellborn International and Frogster Interactive.

After a small free starting zone there is a subscription model to play this Massively Multiplayer Online Game. A major bummer is that you are unable to sell items or buy items.

The Chronicles of Spellborn will be launching on November 27, 2008 in the United States and North America. The Europe release will be on the same day.

The Chronicles of Spellborn is using the Unreal Engine 2.5 and features Human and Daevis races. Spellborn focuses on quests and combat and the story.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is an M Rated MMOG. This massively multiplayer online role playing game had a great start but has come under fire from players due to bugs and missing features.

Subscribers began dropping. Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures now has a new game director and is working on stabalizing the game. Memory leaks and stabalizing the game engine are main priorities. There is also a rumor that there will be an XBOX MMOG version.

And of course one of the main reason many people play Age of Conan is because of the M rating it received. It is bloody and violent, has cursing and nudity.

Since it’s launch on May 17, 2008 it has received many subscribers approaching the half million mark.

Robotgalaxy recently received five million dollars in round two funding. This toy robot builder will create an online virtual store to take robots kids build on virtual adventures. This is a natural expansion of the current business model of creating a toy robot and programming it’s movements.

I expect this to be a big hit as long as it is done correctly. The new RobotGalaxy Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game will feature quests and battles. Stay tuned for a release date and more information.

Wakfu is a MMORPG from Ankama Studio. Wakfu is schedule to be released this year. The storyline is an interesting one about 6 Dofus dragon eggs. It is currently in closed beta. This is primarily a paid MMO with only a small sample given out for free. Wakfu is a persistent world that runs 24 hours a day and has an ecosystem that is autonomous.

Wakfu has many different creatures and monsters as well. You can customize your characters clothes, weapons, skin, hair, and much more.

There is also a popular Wakfu TV series.

Linden Labs is rolling out Direct SLurl as a way to explore the location you want in the virtual world of Second Life. This speeds up the process and bypasses Help Island or Orientation Island and instead you arrive at whatever destination peaked your interest in the first place.

But how will you know what to do? Well the tutorial comes to you instead of the other way around. Direct SLurl can also help for event promotion and can be sent through email or web links, etc.

Blizzard World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King out November 13, 2008. This expansion pack gives the almost eleven million subscribers of World of Warcraft another continent to explore for the low cost of $39.99. You will fight new characters and the army of Northrend ruled by Lich King Arthas Menethil. The character level cap has also been expanded to 80 up from 70. More player combat options will be created and a new acheivement system is also included. The new Hero class features a Death Knight.
