Buffy the Vampire Slayer MMOG
A smart decision by Fox to create Buffy the Vampire Slayer MMORPG
Twentieth Century Fox announced that they will be creating a MMOG for Buffy the Vampire Slayer instead of based around Firefly. I think this is a good decision based on the recent popularity and lack of competition. A 2d flash based game will be created as well as a 3d virtual world. The Multiverse Buffy the Vampire Slayer world will be released latter in the year. This should be pretty cool. Read more in the press release.
As a follow up story to your Buffy coming to virtual worlds - Sunnydale has already come to second life. In october 2006 we began the Sunnydale-SL project in the virtual world of Second Life!

It already includes Sunnydale hang-outs like the Bronze, Rupert’s Magic Box, Slayer training, episodes of Buffy shown on a big screen, cosy gravestones to cuddle around in Spike’s graveyard, club nights and live bands at The Bronze - streamed into Second Life, interactive RP episodes, vamp vs. slayer RPs, feeding /turning /rebirth RPs. You name it.
The SIM is doing incredibly well with thriving virtual businesses booming around the Buffy franchise - avatars of the main characters, weapons, fun party nights at the Bronze with everybody hanging out.
