Breaking News! EA Land “The Sims Online” is Dead!
This is breaking news. EA Land which is the new land for The Sims Online is closing. (If they had not changed their name I would have titled this post:
“The Sims Online is Offline”
Launched back in 2002 with a paid subscription it will now be closing by the end of the summer. Even relaunching under a new name and completely free it is still unable to continue. The infant EA Land economy has had difficulty and struggled. EA Senior Vice President said basically that this is a new field. The economic and system stability issues ultimately crashed EA Land.
On Their Blog today EA-Land announced the end. The last 60 days will not be billed. PayPal cash-ins are immediately disabled. Paying subscribers can get either a $15 gift certificate or a 3 month Club POGO subscription.
