Support Portal and Phone Outages
In Second Life the service portal went down for maintenance for a few hours. Phone support also went down. Then the phone lines went up, then they went down, then the phones were up, then they were down. The outage lasted for over 4 hours. Phone support for Linden Labs has always been spotty and I suspect the ultimate cause is simply the fact that they use a voice over ip system probably to different locations accross the world and simply don’t have enough bandwidth or load balancing in place to handle high call volume.
