Map collector David Rumsey adds Antique Maps to Second Life

Map collector David Rumsey has created a way to display antique maps in Second Life. The David Rumsey Maps Island is a virtual sim in Second Life where David Rumsey displays his digitizations of maps. There are over 17,500 maps on his website and Rumsey hopes to one day have all of them in Second Life as well. Historic maps include 1883 Yosemite Valley, 1836 Old New York, and more. This is something exciting that hopefully the Second Life Department of Public Works will pick up on and get ideas from.
