Inventory losses have plagued Second Life forever. One of the biggest complaints to Linden Labs about Second Life has been the continued and damaging loss of inventory items. Linden Labs reports that the Second Life inventory has over 1 billion different assets and take up over 98 terabytes of disk space. This has happened to me and I could not believe that everything I have collected over a year in Second Life would just vanish and could not be recovered. It was very disturbing. Linden Labs is actively working to reduce inventory loss, perceived inventory loss, communication about inventory loss, statistics about inventory loss, architectural enhancements, inventory bug fixes, and crash improvement.
