Can the Disabled Participate in Second Life?

A new Seocond Life sim called Health Info Island provides a wide range of health information and education on disabilities in a fun and interactive way. For example, you can test your dexterity using the whack a mole game in the Health Info Island Second Life sim using hand eye coordination and test the speed of your responses. Health Info Island sim then follows up this fun game experience with information on how disabilities can effect dexterity and make activities such as playing whack a mole game more difficult. The Health Info Island sim in Second Life now features an Accessibility Center with access to electronic games and virtual games and how people with disabilities can participate or be hindered in participation depending on learning impairments, mobility impairments, vision impairments, or hearing disabilities.
