Google to Create Virtual World Instead of Buy Linden Labs
Update! Google has launched My World as Google Lively . Google is creating their own virtual world to compete with Second Life instead of purchasing it from Linden Labs. The virtual world will be called “My World” and I am sure it will tie into all off Google’s other services making it immediately more useful than Second Life. The question is will Google only use it for education purposes or give the users the ability to make money which is frankly the only thing that makes Second Life such a ground breaking and successful achievement. Google is currently testing the My World virtual world at Arizona State University on college students.
