Second Life Identity Verification. Second Life is developing a new Identity Verification system. Options such as location, sex, and age are optional. The Second Life Identity Verification system will verify age most importantly. Land owners can then flag their land as restricted to over 18 using the new system. Information such as a drivers license, national ID card, or passport will be checked against public records. A third party verification will be provided by Aristotle. A credit card is no longer enough. The system is currently in beta.
Hmm look for identity theft coming forward in second life as anything from social security numbers and addresses as well as driver’s licenses will be in the system ripe for the plucking.
Oh and get this the verification will “initially” be free. There will be a fee for Premium and a “larger fee” for Basic memberships! Ha!
