Top 4 reasons businesses don’t last in Second Life
1. The businesses didn’t make a dedicated push into the virtual world but just made a one time setup shop and leave it approach. No full time person was hired to constantly monitor the store and build relationships for 6 months.
2. The Second Life residents know that these companies don’t care about them or the products or experience offered inworld and are just interested in releasing a news release about entering Second Life.
3. Big business doesn’t even have to make an effort in Second Life as they can afford to just work with existing customers or play the percentage game.
4. There is no way to force people to pay attention to their Island as with more traditional and annoying advertising such as commercials that interrupt your favorite show (including those anoying adds that appear on top of your show at the bottom of the screen).
