I am not saying that global warming isn’t an important concern. I am not saying we shouldn’t begin using solar electricity and electric cars immediately. I am not saying I do not want to preserve and protect the earth. I am not saying a 1 degree increase in average temperatures in the last hundred years didn’t cause me to shat my pants. What I am saying is that I have a problem with the fear mongering being used and the results of my own observations.
Remember how the African Killer Bees were going to invade and sting everyone to death while destroying the landscape by filling it with honey? The news hyped and featured this story daily for months parading in scientists and graphics and simulations and projections on the spread…..and nothing happened. The African bees weren’t as bad as everyone thought and were easily controlled. They even bred with more docile bees.
Remember the very next year deadly mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus were going to bring a pandemic to the world? A few gallons of ozone killing chemicals later the problem disappeared as an afterthought.
What if bird flu mutates to travel between humans? It will engulf the universe! Has it? NO.
So what about global warming? Living in one of the hottest states in the US; Arizona; I should notice if the temperature increases from 120 to 125 degrees farenheight. Do I notice this? No. In fact, the last few summers have been a mild 100-118 degrees as apposed to record breaking 120 degrees 5 years ago. It is colder and rainier and I hear reports of snow storms and blizzards.
Oh so now the problem is climate change and not global warming? What next: Universal evolution?
Who is to say there will not be a trending of global cooling? Maybe a few asteroids will hit the earth.
The point is the temperature fluctuates in trends naturally up and down and as long as we act responsibly and calmly now the whole “Global Warming Climate Change” will end up being an over-hyped media field day.
Global warming is an important concern. We should begin using solar electricity and electric cars immediately. We should preserve and protect the earth.
A 1 degree increase in average temperatures in the last hundred years is nothing to worry about.
And if the media relayed this logical plan in a calm way without fear mongering I would shat my pants.
